About
Our Mission
Our program generates real, measurable carbon removal from privately owned forests while helping landowners keep their forests standing.
With a team of expert foresters, technicians and carbon analysts, we work with landowners to conserve natural ecosystems, strengthen local communities, and prove that intact forests grow more valuable over time — for the climate and for the people who care for them.
Our carbon program delivers nature‑based credits of the highest quality, demonstrating clear durability and additionality. Because of this, we believe that our credits will demand a premium from buyers who are serious about their net zero goals. We prioritize and value building relationships with buyers that are actively working to reduce emissions, believe in the value of long-term forest conservation, have created net zero goals, and understand that our product is a very important bridge to that gap.
Our team
Carbon markets are complex, and working forests take real work. Our team sits at that intersection, translating technical forestry work into clear, achievable outcomes for landowners.
Our staff includes professional foresters, biometricians, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) analysts, carbon market specialists, and regional Forest Technicians who know the landscapes they serve. Together, they bring decades of hands‑on experience studying forests, managing them, and turning that knowledge into measurable carbon results.
Chestnut Carbon is an industry-leading carbon project developer. Our depth of technical and operational expertise strengthens every project we deliver.

How we’re different
We focus exclusively on nature‑based carbon removals. Our projects generate credits from new carbon captured as forests grow, creating real, measurable increases that result from long‑term, improved forest management.
We don’t issue avoidance or reduction credits, and we don’t credit carbon that was already stored in the forest before a landowner enrolled. Our approach is built around one principle: carbon credits should reflect new climate impact, not past conditions.
Buyers who prioritize high‑integrity removals choose our credits for that reason. They know exactly what they’re getting, carbon backed by transparent measurement, rigorous monitoring, and accountable stewardship.
We operate intentionally at a scale where scientific rigor and project integrity guide every decision. The result is a credit that stands on the strength of real change in the forest and real carbon added to the atmosphere‑to‑forest cycle.
